Katrin Nyman-Metcalf

Katrin Nyman Metcalf is Professor specialised in Law and Technology at Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, and Head of Research as well as leading legal expert of the Estonian e-Governance Academy.

For the past 20 years, she has been active as an international consultant, working globally primarily in the area of communications law in the wide sense, including ICT regulation, privacy and data protection, media law, e-governance and various cyber issues.

She has worked in more than 50 different countries, including post-conflict and developing states, with legal analysis, professional training and legal drafting as well as creation of regulatory authorities. Her PhD (Uppsala University, 1999) is on the law of outer space and she represents Estonia in the International Relations Committee of the European Space Agency.

Rui Paiva

Rui Paiva is CEO and co-founder of WeDo Technologies, as well as board member of Bizdirect, Saphety, S21sec, Bright Pixel and Sonae IM – Investment Management.

Prior to founding WeDo Technologies in 2001, Rui Paiva was System Information Director and Deputy of Optimus Communications’ Executive Committee. Before, he was Consultancy Director at HP Portugal, following a career at Telecel/Vodafone Portugal heading up the Infrastructure, Operations and Help Desk Department.

Rui Paiva began his work life as a Telecommunications and Computing Specialist at Portugal Telecom. He has a post-graduate degree in Management and Administration from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, as well as a BSc in Applied Mathematics.
